Our wines

All Cape Bernier grapes are hand reared and handpicked at harvest to ensure the best interpretation of the terroir comes through in the highest quality wines.

Pinot Noir Amphora


A handcrafted Pinot Noir fermented in clay amphora, in the tradition of ancient winemaking techniques dating back 6000 years. Only the best fruit was selected for to create a delicate wine with a silky mouthfeel and smooth tannins. Limited release of 100 cases.


Pinot Noir


This elegant, balanced wine has been open-vat fermented and matured for nine months in French oak. Black cherry fruit aromas are complemented by a solid tannic underbelly and the savoury spice flavours characteristic of the vineyard. Drink now or cellar for 5-10 years to enjoy its full potential.


Cape Bernier Tasmanian Chardonnay


Made to showcase the terroir, the Chardonnay displays characteristic apple & honeysuckle flavours complemented by baked bread aromas from aging in old french oak & balanced by soft acids with a crisp, dry finish. Drink now or cellar 8-10 years

Sparkling Blanc de Blancs 2011


2011 was a good year for Chardonnay at Cape Bernier and some of the very best grapes went into the 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blanc.


Cape Bernier ‘Haphazard’ Pinot Gris


Our Pinot Gris, is pale straw in colour with a floral bouquet. The extended hours of sunshine provided by our easterly aspect combined with the extended growing season allowed the fruit to develop balance and complexity. The palate is characterised by refreshing pear and mandarin with a hint of honeysuckle and green apple from a small amount of field blended Chardonnay. The delicate fruit flavours balanced by a crisp acid finish pair perfectly with succulent meats and seafood. Drink now or cellar for 3-5 years.


Cape Bernier Pinot Rose


A crisp, summer wine with a refreshing dry palate made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. A fruit forward bouquet of strawberry shortcake and raspberry is complemented by texture, balance and length. A perfect match to enjoy with light and delicate salads, spicy foods, as well as fresh seafood or soft white cheeses.
