Product Description
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes are sourced from a nearby southern Tasmanian vineyard and crafted into a style that is quintessentially Cape Bernier.
The wine is fruit driven and balanced, with soft but intense mulberries and plums from the Merlot, complemented by the astringency of the Cabernet Sauvignon, with hints of cedar and blackberries. This is not typical of mainland Australian cabernets, with its cool climate bright fruit flavours and lighter style making this wine thoroughly enjoyable.
“Strong crimson-purple; a generously fruited wine (especially for Tasmania) open-fermented with oak planks. Designed for early consumption, and succeeds.” James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2013
